The Kodiak Area Native Association (KANA) has been providing exceptional patient and family focused health care and social services to the people of Kodiak Island since 1966. KANA’s patient-centered medical home model incorporates Behavioral Health, Dental, and Pharmacy services within the primary care setting to facilitate an advanced support system that ensures our patients’ needs are met. KANA also offers Child Services and Youth Prevention programs; Women, Infant and Children (WIC); Vocational Rehabilitation; Employment and Training services; Early Childhood and Infant Learning, and a full service fitness center to support the whole person.

The Behavioral Health Clinician provides quality Behavioral Health (BH) services to youth, adults and families. Offers interventions to individuals with mental health and/or co-occurring disorders. Provides integrated assessments and formulates appropriate treatments plans that address client’s presenting problem, biopsychosocial contexts, and therapeutic goals. Works as part of an integrated team to provide superior coordination of care on behalf of the client.

Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree from an accredited university in psychology, counseling, social work, or related field.
  • Licensed in State of Alaska or eligible for licensure within 2 years of hire. 
  • Certification as a Chemical Dependency Counselor I or equivalent, or ability to become certified within one year of hire. 
  • One year of work experience in the behavioral health field required; two years of experience preferred.
