Social Worker – Unalaska, Alaska – Aleutian Pribilof Islands Association, Inc.

DUTIES:  With an emphasis on supporting individuals experiencing substance use disorders, provide case management, individual needs assessments, and assist with facilitating groups via outpatient sessions. Work with multiple behavioral health providers to assist clients with follow-up community support services. Collaborate with local healthcare organizations to plan or coordinate treatment plans. Work with other APIA programs to coordinate prevention activities in communities and with schools. Assist with day-to-day operations of the Behavioral Health Program. Be  responsible for data collection and input into electronic health databases.

QUALIFICATIONS:  Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from an accredited college or university, Master’s degree preferred. Alaska Licensed (or provisionally licensed) Baccalaureate Social Worker (LBSW), Master of Social Work (LMSW), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), plus at least one year of experience in substance treatment. Knowledge of federal confidentiality regulations and requirements. Willingness and means to travel. Good working knowledge of basic English grammar, sentence structure, and punctuation. Interest, knowledge and sensitivity to the Native lifestyle and culture. Willing to take training and attend workshops and meetings periodically to enhance job performance and knowledge.
