Behavioral Health Crisis Therapist I/II – Kotzebue, Alaska – Maniilaq Association

This position serves the Maniilaq Health Center and Maniilaq Counseling and Recovery Center. At both facilities, this position provides crisis intervention and stabilization services. This position also provides brief supportive counseling for the purpose of referral to appropriate level of care for individuals, families and couples and works, in collaboration with medical staff and behavioral health personnel, to provide current clients with appropriate recommendations for acute and long-term treatment interventions. The Behavioral Health Crisis Therapist participates in the multidisciplinary team rounds to discuss client status and discharge planning. This position is located at the Maniilaq Health Center and reports directly to the Maniilaq Counseling and Recovery Supervisor.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Behavioral Health Crisis Therapist I:

  • Master’s degree in counseling field and 1 year of post master’s experience. 
  • Must be able to obtain a terminal licensure within 3 years.
  • Ability to be CPR certified within 6 months of hire.

Behavioral Health Crisis Therapist II:

  • Must have met all the requirements of a level I and have obtained a terminal mental health licensure, i.e. LCSW/LPC/LMFT or higher credential.

*An additional 2 steps of compensation is available for employees that have obtained a CDC I (or national equivalent).
