CHAP Instructor/Provider – Dillingham, Alaska – Bristol Bay Area Health Corporation

To monitor CHA/P training requirements. To provide education and training to CHA/Ps from all the villages within the region. The primary focus is to be centered on Pre-session, Post Session Learning Needs (PSLNs), Standing Orders (SO), credentialing and recredentialling and CME. Provides primary health care in assigned clinic and/or sub region. Travels to provide primary health care in village clinics within the Bristol Bay region. When assigned, provides primary care support to the outpatient department at BBAHC.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Rural Primary Healthcare experience strongly preferred.

  1. Certified Physician’s Assistant or Family Nurse Practitioner licensed in the State of Alaska with a minimum of two years Mid-Level experience required. 
  2. Strong supervisory skills needed.
  3. Experienced in emergency care preferred.
  4. Able to perfo1m duties with a high degree of autonomy.
  5. Strong physical assessment, supervisory, and teaching skills.
  6. Demonstrates attention to detail.
  7. Able to effectively use English for both written and verbal communication.
  8. Demonstrates prioritization, organization, and administrative skills.
  9. Prefer ability to speak one of the local native languages.
  10. Dependable; maintains confidentiality.
  11. Able and willing to perform job functions, including travel, year-round.
  12. Negative drug screen.
  13. Knowledge of and experience in Alaska’s Community Health Aide Program preferred.
  14. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span (e.g., pediatric/adult/geriatric) and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the patient’s status and interpret the appropriate information needed to identify each patient’s requirements relative to his/her age specific needs, and to provide the care needed as described in the assigned unit’s policies and procedures .
